Aston Martin DB4 GT

Collectors Corner - Aston Martin DB4GT: Anamera

The Aston Martin DB4GT was launched in September 1959 at the London Motor Show, the car displayed was based on the prototype DP199. The Touring bodywork was very similar to the DB4, but always had covered headlights. To save weight the wheelbase was reduced from 2489mm to 2362mm by nearly 13cm, the rear seats were eliminated, thinner aluuminum was used, reducing the weight by 140 kg. The models featured Girling brakes and leightweight Borrani wire wheels with ally rims. The 3670 cc twin plug engine was tuned it had an compression ratio of 9:71 and produced 314 bhp @ 6000 rpm, 48 bhp more then the DB4. Two distributors and triple twin choke 45 DOCE4 Weber carburettors were used.
